Little things you do on Facebook that can spoil your Reputation
What you are known for is your Reputation; one of those abstract factors that make who you are. Reputation goes together with honor and respect.
Facebook is good; I acknowledge its usefulness. Connecting with thousands and millions of
people on one platform; everybody loves that. However, there are these little things that if
you are involved in it on Facebook, might spoil your reputation; thereby giving
your friends and fans on Facebook a bad signal, and also letting them to take
the wrong perspective of who you are.
Facebook is like a small public village, mounted in it
millions of video cameras. Anything you post on Facebook can reach where you
don’t expect (goes viral). So one should be careful of the kind of post/photos/videos
he/she uploads on Facebook.
Such things include:
1) Always online on Facebook
Even Mark Zukerberg and his workers
don’t stay online always. At a time, they go for a long break to refresh
themselves. Few number of them work at night. Now you that doesn’t work on
Facebook, but always online 24/7, busy
posting, liking and commenting on any post that comes your way; how much is
your pay? Can’t you convert that time for something else important and
yielding? Out there, anyone that notes your constant presence on Facebook might
conclude that you are an idle man. Remember, time na money.
2) Excessive upload of photos
This is
common among the girls. For some of them; I don’t know whether they spend all
their time taking pictures. Anywhere they are, they are with their selfie
stick. All these for the sake of staying active on Facebook and sharing your
good memories with friends. It’s good. But when you do that excessively, you are
giving a bad signal; telling them how busy you are with your camera. Are you a
photographer?
3) Commenting anyhow, anywhere
Many
people are fund of this. You shouldn’t say everything you want to say because
you want to express yourself. Some on the process say stupid things and talk
abusively. You shouldn’t talk everywhere and you shouldn’t be seen everywhere;
sometimes you just have to reserve your words. People are reading your comments. What you say
is who you are.
4) Publicizing you private
pictures/videos, uploading nude pictures/videos
For
what reason should you post a picture of where you are in the restroom or where
you are taking your bath. Don’t you have some respect for yourself?
Some of will upload pictures/videos of where they are in the toliet...
Just Imagine!
5) Like hunters
Because
you want to have 1000 likes, you tag your friends, you tag your enemies. You
like their posts for them to like yours too. They happen not to like yours for
one reason or the other; you call them “haters”. Abeg, let me ask; how much is
the cost of 1like?
Friends liking or reacting to your post doesn’t mean they
really like you; it’s just one of those Facebook activities.
6) Rich boy/girl on Facebook, wretched thing for real
This is
common among the boys. You claim to be one big rich boy/girl like that on
Facebook, posting pictures of you in hotels, cars and the rest of them,
claiming them to be yours; but for real, you are living in a small ghetto, gat
nothing.
What if they catch you for real? What are you? Be real!
7) Posting too much and unnecessarily
Whatever
that ran through your mind, you post. Whatever your friend did to you, you
post. I had a little accident, you post. At a time, people will start to see
you as a talkative.
